The majority of people living below the poverty line are women and unfortunately many girls globally are still denied a basic education. Unfortunately women are currently classified as the world’s illiterate population.
On this program you will work with female students at a primary school and focus on conducting one on one sessions with numeracy and literacy focuses.
Program activities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting female students in reading program
- Plan, prepare and run daily workshops for groups of female students.
- Help with girls netball team and other female only sports at primary school
- Work with female teachers and other woman within Community developing plans for future workshops and careers events for females
Opportunities to deliver workshops in CV writing, budgeting, healthcare, first aid presentation skills and any other skillset which the women are interested in.
Each new volunteer will get a sewing lesson once they arrive in country. In addition, the Women’s Empowerment program involves working with girls in the community (currently in Grade 6-7) regarding health and hygiene, team building, communication, gender equality, emotional intelligence and much more
